Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query under its own systems and returns the response. We do not retain or log those search terms on our servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or contact submission as needed to answer it. The message remains with our team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive basic technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view times and the pages viewed
- Device category and operating system
- The referring website, when available
- Browser type and version
- The device’s assigned IP address
- Approximate time spent on visited pages
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure site use, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that traffic into reports. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable performance
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measuring which content works well or needs revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Morgan County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of case records or court dockets. It publishes general directions to the Circuit Clerk of Morgan County, the Circuit and District Courts, separate municipal and probate custodians, and Alabama’s Alacourt access services. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes that appear on some pages. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices govern data entered there. This policy does not control a partner’s system. Read the provider’s policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court and clerk pages, Alabama case services, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows one, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks that serve content on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect information in our control. No internet service can promise perfect safety, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted data, notify us so it can be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Alabama and federal privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights over personal data. Alabama’s public-writing inspection rule, Code of Alabama §36-12-40, concerns government records and does not turn this private site into a court-record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. A new version will appear here with its updated effective date, so visitors can review current handling practices.
